Bye Bye Delhi
The day began on a very positive note. A no of friends from FSS ( formerly HSS) called up to inform me abt smthng they hv been waiting fr a year now - appraisals n salary hike. let me not disclose the figures but the hike hv been pretty substantial n all of them looked quite happy over this. fr last one yr most of them hv been cribbing abt money they hv been getting, but it has all changed now. i simply wonder how a salary hike can do wonders to the employee morale.... congratulations to all of them.meanwhile i hv packed my bags to head fr my destination - IIM Ahmedabad. this packing thing took sum time. actually this is the first time i wud be staying away frm my family fr such a long duration of time. did my schooling here, got admitted to one of the premier engg colleges in india( yeah NSIT RULEZ ) , got a decent job in gurgaon... i never had to move away frm delhi. my world has been limited to delhi n ncr region...... so i never had to this packing thing . but now i was forced to do the same. another interesting thing was a lot of people giving plethora of advices.
' beta take 2 alarm clocks . in case if one goes bust, u still hv a backup'
' take ur own nail cutter. dont hv to run to the neighbours asking fr sharing this stuff'
' take this press with u. but dont try to use it,otherwise u wud burn ur clothes. u may become a fashion statement in ur college if u give it a try.....:) . '
a lot of gyan came fr washing cloths. from the type of detergent to right combination of detergent n water - the gyan included everything. i seem to hv become a more learned person now.
the journey was a peaceful affair....apart frm 2 small kids on the adjacent seat continously fighting n crying n their mother trying to pacify them. well its certainly difficult to manage young kids. no wonder a lot of govt compaigns say -' bachhe, do hi achhe'. but their antics kept me amused throughout the journey.
My registration is on 23rd. so till then i wud hv some time to explore this city, meet a lot of fachhas n tuchhas ( iim a lingo fr seniors) n hv a feel of the campus. i intend to buy a new PC here. wud be getting the new PC by the end of this month. so wud be dependent on computer centre of college fr net access.
So fr next 3 months- Bye Bye Delhi. Ahmedabad- here i come....

yeah mitali, i hope to learn a lot staying here.first time away frm the family n wud hv to manage everything on my own. hope this experience wud help me in the longer run. n i know it is difficult NOT to miss me but plzzz KEEP TRYING . u may succeed fr a while......:).
