Nice to be on campus...

Well the summer training ended a couple of days earlier n i m back to the campus. i did not get a chance to go home n now it has become 6 months since i went home.... the longest stretch in my life when i hv been away frm home. It is really nice to meet the frnds at the campus ... all seems very frsh frm this 2 month break... going by typical IIMA rigorous schedule, summers were like cakewalk for most of us.... in terms of workload, pressure or endless manager expectations.

Banglore is a nice decent city....u feel it tht way... until u hv to pay for rent of ur house n u start to wonder abt the money n time u spend on commuting, which burns a big hole in ur wallet. i was lucky on the former front... avoiding paying rent here by staying with my younger brother, who is working as a s/w engg. he lives in a big flat with four of his company mates, two frm NSIT itself. n i can afford to hv a luxury of big flat in this overcrowded n crumbling city.

Living here with 5 guys in the same flat made me a bit nostalgic. it reminded me of my first year in engg, when i used to stay with my 3 frnds in hostel n who turned out to be amongst my best pals. tht was the first time when i lived away frm the comforts of family n learned to make a no of adjustments to accomodate others.

- u get up in the morning, somehow, get ready to go to office. u start a mad scramble fr socks to wear n u cant find a pair... i can find arnd 8 socks, but all of different variety n hence unable to form a pair... i just smile... frustrated by the scene till now... somehow manage to find something tht wud resemble a pair n then move out.

- Being on a job means u hv to be well dressed n groomed everyday... n the basics r like taking a bath everyday... n fr me it seems a record tht i had a bath regularly for arnd 2 months... usually i hv been too lazy & hv always considered bathing regularly as a luxury... dont get surprised... this is the way most guy in IIM campus wud also function

- one of the guys was himself a blogger.. n he writes 'gud' poems... the only issue is tht he makes me go thru his collection every second day... n considering tht i m as distant a conneisure of poems as i am a relative of mukesh ambani... i feel it sometimes become overbearing... but do check out his collection at www.acrossthewall.blogspot.com. He has composed a book on poems, which i felt is pretty decent

- now this guy is also an amazing cook... n he is really eager n enthu abt cooking food... no wonder u now know why i also had to show my 'eagerness' regarding reading his poems.

The weather there was really pleasant n it rained every alternate day....n i seem to be missing the heat n temperatures of delhi.... the maximum temperature there those days is around 30 degrees,... so the weather was really cool n a fine breeze blew across the whole day.. n sumtime i felt tht if i cud just fly... have a bike n go for a long drive at a zapping speed.... but irony it seems is tht even though it may be possible to arrange a bike, but it wud have been nearly impossible even for the CM here to get a empty road... traffic is a major problem here n crawling wud also be a real 'respectable' word to describe the traffic here in the evening

The protests against reservation has really picked up in these days n every weekend there have been major rallies planned in nearly all the major cities in India... n the worst thing is tht inspite of such highly educated n 'acclaimed' Prime Minister, President n the Finance Minister, such decisions are in the way of implementation. Its really heartening to see now different section of society coming n joining the movement... medicos, enggs, professionals,RWAs, traders, students, normal citizens are all joining hands to protest against the same... n this movement does not have a leader in specific... everybdy is volunteering n taking initiative on his own..

i received this pic regarding the same.... n my feelings r here not to hurt any section of the society... but this image clearly describes the fragmentation of society in the future if the reservation is implemeted

P.S. : Would be updating the 'Blogs i visit' section soon... so guys who wants their name listed there could just send me a $100 cheque for the same :).... n does someone knows abt any better way of managing this list apart frm blogroll which makes the webpage loading pretty slow?
