The milestone

the small milestone........ the blog hits crosses the four digit barrier....... though arnd 200 of those hits would be by yours truly. not a bad start for me .... a person who hv mundane writing skills n who started writin just fr fun. with arnd 350 hits for last 2 posts, my IIM Ahmedabad experiences seems to be rocking... thank u guys

from where did i get this idea of blogging.

i think this idea caught my fancy when i used to prepare for cat i used to read the experiences of various guys studying in different B schools in India. i wanted to hv a feel of the atmosphere there. i yearned to see wht motivates these guys. how did they managed to crack it ? CAT is amongst the toughest exams in country with 1.25 lakhs students aspiring for those 1200 coveted seats. so wht differentiates these 1200 odd guys frm the rest of junta. there were a lot many questions which i used to think of...also with a heavy workload in the office, it sumtimes became difficult to maintain the same level of enthu n motivation thru out the preparation. reading those blogs helped me to retain my zeal fr the same.

then there were friends like abhinav who cud potray their feelings and emotions so beautifully on the web. i used to be totally amazed by the way these guys used to depict every simple experience in their lives in their posts. so i decided tht if i got an opportunity, i wud hv my own sphere on the web. where i can put wht i really feel abt life, abt the various activites goin arnd myself n simply...... enjoy myself.

i got this opportunity when i got thru IIM Ahmedabad. with this major breakthrough my workload in the office simply nosedived( in fact it used to be all play n no work in last few days in the office.....:) ). i decided to utilise my time n company's internet facility fr sum better avenues. i was literally enjoying myself during tht phase n my blog derived its name from that phase in life. n thts the way this blog evolved.

though with acads in full flow now, i feel tht blogging will hv to take a backseat. so the frequency of posts may start coming down. though i wud try to hv a post every week. I enjoy sharing my experiences here with all who hv made it to different B Schools, who havent made it n all those who are aspiring to dream big. i hope this blog continues n provide me with a way to unwind myself, take a break from the frentic life here.

amit

P.S. - I am receiving a number of mails with people soliciting advices, tips n tricks n strategies for CAT preparation. it is very difficult fr me to reply each one separately. so i m thinking of posting my experiences with CAT on the blog, may be in sum of the next few posts. So keep ur fingers crossed n pray to god tht i get sum free time to post my experiences.

Hey Lakho congrats for ur blog's free hit counter reaching a mile stone, but can u explain as to how n y u managed to give ur blog 200 hits alone?

@ freakazoid : well 200 hits was just an approximation. this can be accounted on the factor of writing the post, checking n replying comments, changing templates n so on. 200 hits in 3 months means roughly 3 hits per day from my side

hope it clears ur predication. i know u r too much mathematically oriented...:). so i hope this will do fr u

@mitali : jab tum meri nas-nas se wakif ho, how did u manage to stop urself at just 390 odd hits ....:). but u know, it is a nature of software enggr to hv a deep sense of mistrust over the managers, n i can see tht mistrust ruling over ur mind...:).

Were you one of the kids whose mother, had to give you up for adoption, (her crisis-pregnancy did not end up in abortion!)

Has your heart had a longing you've tried fill, with hard work, or perfectionism, music, cars, food addictions or drugs, alcohol or sex? Maybe your adoptive parents are great BUT the emptiness is still there. Well15 years ago I met an adoptee, who became a birth mom herself at 16 and had to put her own daughter up for adoption. She had some trials in her life that probably resembled your own, but she had a determination I've not seen in very many people. Driven by the deep desires of her own heart to know her birth parents and the unending questions about her own baby, adopted by strangers, she began to SEARCH…. and what a search it has been. It did not stop with her. She helped another person, and then another, reuniting birth parents and children, sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles and grandparents and special needs adoptions. She works with adoption agencies, attorneys, adoption laws…and to date has reunited over 2,500 adoptees with their birth mom and/or birth dad. Her name is JENNIFER ROBINSON and she can be contacted at http://www.givenright.com .

Jennifer has a remarkable ability to find people QUICKLY. She frequently hears the phrase "I have looked for them for years and you found them in just a few days". She gives many, many hours for these adoption searches but she gives credit for the remarkable results to God who is a Father Himself and loves to see family restored. She has had many opportunities to "sell her integrity and her adoption search business" to Hollywood and reality shows, but she turns them all down because it is YOU she cares about and your heart. She is YOU… she can relate to all the heart issues you have as an adoptee…..loving your adoptive parents but still longing to know your own. She can relate to you as a birthmother, the ache to know "what happened to my baby", and even as an adoptive mother, because she is raising her husbands son by a previous marriage. Contact her. It might be just the OPEN DOOR TO HEALING YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
